Solution: Sends timely reminders for each medication, promoting adherence and reducing the risk of users forgetting to take their prescribed medications - Inconvenient Prescription Refill Process
Solution: Integrates with local pharmacies, allowing users to choose their preferred pharmacy within the app. The tool ensures a seamless transfer of prescription information, making the refill process quick and hassle-free.
I employed the Design Thinking framework recommended by the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design at Stanford, also known as the "d. school." This model comprises five distinct stages, which include the following:
Among the two distinct user research methodologies; quantitative and qualitative analysis, both were employed to gauge a better understanding of the approach for PulseRx.
An online survey was created and distributed among 45 users from the age of 20-45 across the United States.
An interview was carried out amongst 5 target users to generate a more concise idea of pain points.
What does your typical day look like?
What are problems that apps/websites wont solve?
What gets in the way of being able to complete tasks?
What is your experience like refilling medications?
What prevents you from receiving medication on time?
The three main paint points which emerged from our research was:
- Lack of communication from pharmacy
- Not receiving a new prescription when there are no refills
- Difficulty keeping track of medication regimen
During our research, in order to highlight users feelings, we used the empathy map: what we found is that users recall anxiety and overwhelm when managing appointments, refills, long waiting times, or when an easy way to contact the trusted specialist was not available.

The blueprint of the IA structure allows us to focus on the approach for organizing, structuring and labeling content. The goal is to help users find information and complete tasks in a minimal and efficient way, without the clutter.
Wireframes with low fidelity were created using the information architecture as a foundation.
The soft, neutral tones promote a calm and trustworthy atmosphere, while the accent color adds vibrancy without being intrusive. The overall scheme aims for readability, accessibility, and a professional aesthetic, creating a visually appealing and user-friendly design.
The typography choices were used to strike a balance between modernity and professionalism. The main logo features "Pulse" in Helvetica Neue Light for a friendly feel and "Rx" in Helvetica Neue Bold for authority. Throughout the UI, Avenir Next ensures readability and a cohesive, modern aesthetic, enhancing the overall user experience.
The logo depicts a heart with a pulse, chosen for its universal association with vitality and immediate recognition. It communicates the app's focus on health, fostering user engagement and emphasizing the commitment to wellness.
